`Runners Head To Fullerton For A Short Road Match Before Returning Home

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield women's volleyball team are on fire as they took two home conference wins this weekend to put them at top of league standings 4-0 and 10-8 overall. The Roadrunners will travel down to Cal State Fullerton tomorrow for a non-conference match-up.

Tuesday, the `Runners will face the Titans at their home with a current record of 4-12. Cal State Fullerton will welcome CSUB with a ready to win mind set as the Titans now have a six-game losing streak. Fullerton has had some good competition so far in the Big West with teams like Hawaii, Cal Poly, Long Beach State and UC Irvine, who swept Bakersfield earlier in the season. Leading the Titans is junior Madeline Schneider with 2.98 kills per set (173 K) and 156 digs while redshirt sophomore leads in assists with 402 (7.05 a/s) and 121 digs.

The `Runners are ready to take on the Titans before they continue WAC play again on Friday against GCU with senior libero Emily Lopes receiving WAC Player of The Week after taking 60 total digs (7.50 d/s) this weekend. Lopes has continued to move up in NCAA ranks as being no. five for digs per set in the nation.

CSUB will head out for a short road trip on Tuesday evening scheduled for 6 p.m. in Fullerton, Calif. before returning home to Icardo Center on Friday.  Live stats will be available and can be accessed on the volleyball's schedule.
