BAKERSFIELD, Calif.- As the second-half season progresses in Minor League Baseball, six former Roadrunners are still active on affiliated MiLB rosters while three others are competing in independent or international leagues following their time in Bakersfield.

OF, Dustin Frailey, Rookie-Level GCL Tigers West (2016, 19th Round, Detroit)
In 2016 Dustin Frailey was the lone draft pick for the Roadrunners having been selected in the 19th round by the Detroit Tigers. He is currently assigned to the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Tigers West located in Lakeland, Fla. Frailey, who officially ended the season as the NCAA Division I leader in triples-per-game, is currently hitting .219 for the Tigers while boasting a .444 on-base-percentage, he has five stolen bases and one RBI in 19 games in the Gulf Coast League.
P-Mickey Jannis, Advanced-A St. Lucie Mets (2010, 44th Round, Tampa Bay)
Elsewhere in Minor League Baseball, Mickey Jannis, the longest-tenured Roadrunners draft pick from the 2010 class is in the midst of his second stint in the minors. Following his release from the Tampa organization, Jannis spent a few years in independent professional baseball before being resigned by the New York Mets two years ago. Jannis, who reinvented himself as a knuckleball pitcher has spent much of this season with the AA Binghamton Mets where he was 3-10 with a 5.25 ERA, 67 strikeouts and a .257 batting-average against. Jannis was recently reassigned to the Advanced-A St. Lucie Mets in the Florida State League, he won his first start on Sunday pitching 5.1 innings allowing one run on just five hits while striking out a pair in the victory.

P, Mike McCarthy- AA Portland (2011, 14th Round, Red Sox)
The lone remaining draft pick from the 2011 draft class of four Roadrunners, McCarthy has had issues with injuries this season with the AA Portland Sea Dogs in Portland, Maine. McCarthy is 0-2 this season with a 5.54 ERA for Portland with three starts in eight appearances. He has struck out eight and has a .327 average against. He also made one lone start at AAA Pawtucket, taking the loss giving up six runs on nine hits in 3.1 innings of work.
Following his last relief appearance in AA Portland where he pitched four innings of scoreless relief on July 26, McCarthy was placed on the seven-day DL retroactive to July 27.

C, Cael Brockmeyer-AAA Iowa Cubs (2013, 16th Round, Chicago Cubs)
Of the five Roadrunners drafted in the 2013 class, Cael Brockmeyer is the last one standing and is standing on high ground currently with the AAA Iowa Cubs and currently sits as close to the big leagues as any Roadrunner in history.
Brockmeyer has earned his way up the minor league ladder this season having started this year with the Advanced-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans before being promoted to the AA Tennessee Smokies and then to the Iowa Cubs on June 16th. At all levels this season, Brockmeyer is hitting .225 with seven homeruns, nine doubles and 26 RBIs. Since being promoted to AAA, Brockmeyer is hitting .210 in 24 games with seven RBIs, four doubles and a homerun. This is his third time appearing in AAA for the Cubs organization, this latest promotion came following a 12-game stint in AA where he hit over .300 and had a .537 slugging percentage.

P, Austin Davis- A Lakewood Blue Claws (2014, 12th Round, Phillies)
Davis opened the season on the disabled list and has played for a pair of teams and is currently assigned to the A-level Lakewood Blue Claws of the South Atlantic League. Davis is 1-0 having pitched 9.1 innings without giving up a run. He pitched two innings in relief on July 28 with a strikeout in the victory. Davis has made two appearances in Advanced-A Clearwater in the Florida State League where he gave up four runs on six hits in two appearances. He is a combined 1-0 this season with a 2.20 ERA in nine games.

SS, Mylz Jones-A South Atlantic League (2015, 13th Round, Rockies)
Mylz Jones has had a solid season with the Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League hitting .271 in 93 games this season. Jones who has transitioned back into the infield for the Rockies organization has a .310 on-base percentage and also has 37 RBIs, 19 doubles, three triples and eight homeruns. Defensively, Jones has played rightfield, centerfield, third base and shortstop for Asheville this season and was 2-3 with a pair of RBIs on July 31.
Along with the affiliated minor league players, the Roadrunners also have three players in other minor and international leagues.

2B, Oscar Sanay-AAA Pericos de Puebla (2014, Free Agent, Tampa Bay)
After he signed a non-drafted free agent contract with Tampa Bay in 2014 and following a season with the organization, Oscar Sanay found success in the minor leagues in Mexico. Sanay is currently playing in the AAA-Mexican League for Pericos de Puebla where he is hitting .321 through 63 games this season. Sanay has 24 RBIs, seven doubles and a homerun.
Sanay has played second, third and shortstop this season for the Pericos and is fielding over .960 in the infield. He was 2-5 with a run scored in the last Pericos game on July 31.

P, Jeff McKenzie- Independent Lincoln Saltdogs (2013, 28th Round, White Sox)
McKenzie was released from the White Sox Organization in 2014 and spent the 2015 season abroad playing in France. He returned to the U.S. this season to play in the American Association for the Lincoln Saltdogs in Lincoln, Nebraska.
McKenzie is 4-3 this season with a 3.31 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 49 innings pitched. He has allowed 18 earned runs and walked 15 this season.

C, Logan Trowbridge- Independent Great Bend Boom (2015, Undrafted)
Former Roadrunners catcher Logan Trowbridge continued his professional career with the expansion Great Bend Boom of the Independent Pecos League. Trowbridge had a tremendous season leading the boom with a .359 batting average which included 45 RBIs, 11 doubles, a triple and five homeruns.
Trowbridge, who played in 59 games for the Boom also stole 29 bases in 34 attempts and had an on-base percentage of .465. The Boom were 19-42 this season in their first year in the Pecos League. The organization recently announced they would return to the league for the 2017 season which gets underway next May.
