BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield men's swimming and diving regular season will come to an end when the Roadrunners face a tough foe this week. In their final dual meet of the season, the 'Runners will welcome No. 2 California to the Hillman Aquatic Center Thursday at 2 p.m.
“Cal is one of the toughest teams in the country,” said Chris Hansen, CSUB's Director of Swimming. “We love swimming them because they make us better. We don't want to shy away from Olympians and NCAA Champions; we want to race them. Lovre Soric, Bryce Timonera, and Mihael Vukic will be competitive as well as a host of our other men.”
Thursday's meet will also be the final dual meet for the two 'Runner seniors' careers. Carson May has been a huge asset for the 'Runners in adding depth in the freestyle races while Terrell Mauldin, who transferred to CSUB last season, has earned many points for the 'Runner diving team.
After this dual, the CSUB men and women will shift focus to preparing for the Western Athletic Championships. The WAC meet will take place Feb. 24-27 in Houston, Texas, and will be live streamed via the WAC Digital Network.
As always, admission to the CSUB swimming and diving meets is free for fans and parking is also free during athletic events. Come on out to the Hillman Aquatic Center at 2 p.m. to support the 'Runners against one of the nation's top teams.
