LOS ANGELES — The Roadrunner men's and women's diving teams wrapped up the UCLA Diving Invitational on Sunday behind Brayden Greenwald's solid 1-meter performance. The sophomore diver finished eighth with a best six-dive score of 270.55 points.
Greenwald sat out of the platform competition on Saturday and came back with a strong performance on the 1-meter board Sunday. The sophomore from Henderson, Nev. posted his third-best score of the season during the finals (270.55). Greenwald finished eighth overall while his older brother, Tyler Greenwald, finished one place back with a best six-dive total of 260.55. Terrell Mauldin, a senior, jumped from 11th to 10th after the prelim and posted two consistent rounds (227.05 and 225.00).
The 'Runner women took their first crack of the season at the platform in a tune-up for the event at the WAC Championships. Junior Melissa Gore posted the best result for CSUB with a score of 166.30, a personal best in the event for the native of Taft, Calif. Fellow junior Carlee Burks finished with a score of 144.80 on Sunday.
The 'Runner divers have wrapped up the UCLA Diving Invitational and will link back up with the CSUB swimmers next weekend. Both the men's and women's squads will travel north to Santa Cruz, Calif. for a meet featuring the 'Runners, Fresno Pacific, and host UC Santa Cruz. The tri-meet will take place Saturday, Jan. 23, with the first event scheduled for 11 a.m.
