SANTA BARBARA, Calif.—UC Santa Barbara defeated Bakersfield 2-0 in women's soccer play Sunday night at Harder Stadium.

Angelisa Cortez (in the 19th minute) and Miranda Cornejo (in the 65th minute) recorded the Gauchos' goals. UC Santa Barbara (3-3-2) outshot the Roadrunners 21-2. Tori Ornela (R-Jr., Lemoore, Calif., Lemoore HS) made seven saves for the 'Runners. CSUB as a team tallied nine saves.

Bakersfield (0-7-1) travels to the state of Florida for the first time as a Division I member next weekend. The 'Runners are at Florida Atlantic Friday (at 7 p.m. EDT) and Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday (at 1 p.m. EDT).
