SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Kassidy Kellogg's goal with 5:19 remaining gave Sacramento State a 2-1 victory over Bakersfield (0-3) in women's soccer action Friday night.

The Hornets (2-1) scored with seven seconds remaining in the first half to take the lead. Kassi Anast took a lob pass from Lydia Bowman and finished past the left side of 'Runner keeper Tori Ornela (R-Jr., Lemoore, Calif., Lemoore HS).

The Roadrunners tied the score in the 50th minute when Hedda Regefalk (So., Stockholm, Sweden, Blackebergs Gymnasium) took a Maja Green (Fr., Falkoping, Sweden, Allebergsgymnasiet HS)  pass and scored with a shot that went to the left of Sacramento State goalie Kimberly Mata.

Kellogg's gamewinner came off a corner kick that went into the top right of the CSUB net.  Ornela would make six saves as the 'Runners were outshot 12-7 (8-4 on goal).

"We are very proud of our performance tonight but we just didn't do enough to get over the line," said Bakersfield head coach Gary Curneen. "We are all putting a lot into this and are just short in one or two areas. Momentum is a huge thing in soccer and you have to earn it. That's where our focus is at the minute and we will be ready for Sunday."

Bakersfield is at Southern Utah Sunday. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. (PDT).
