BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Women's Indoor Track and Field team will head to Fresno for the Run for the Dream Invitational today.
Starting at 4:30 p.m., the 'Runners will compete against representatives from other universities of the likes of San José State, Cal Poly, and Fresno State. The meet will be the last indoor competition for Bakersfield before the team heads to the WAC Indoor Championships in Moscow, Idaho at the end of February.
Bakersfield's top female performers of the year thus far include Alyssa Page (Jr.,Santa Rosa, Calif., Montgomery HS), Ariana Mariscal (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., North HS) and Marina Emhoff (RFr., Bakersfield, Calif., North HS). Page and Emhoff have competed well in the sprinting events and Mariscal has had a strong freshman season in the middle distances, especially the 600m.
These three women will look to pace the 'Runners again as the team heads to Fresno and will be aided in that quest by sophomore jumper and sprinter, Audrena Harlan (So., Antioch, Calif., Dozier-Libbey Medical HS). Harlan has put together strong performances in both the 60m dash as well as the long jump in 2014.
