BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—Hedda Regefalk (So., Stockholm, Sweden, Blackebergs Gymnasium) became the seventh Bakersfield women's soccer player to record a hat trick but it wasn't enough as the Roadrunners fell to defending WAC champion Seattle U (7-3-1, 3-0 WAC) 6-3 Sunday afternoon.

Preseason WAC Offensive Player of the Year Stephanie Verdoia opened the scoring with a header in the 18th minute. Regefalk tied the score a little under three minutes later when she took a long Sarah Cook (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev., Las Vegas HS) pass and put it past Seattle goalie Brianna Smallidge. Kiana Kraft put the Redhawks up by one with her first goal of the year in the 28th minute.

Regefalk tied the game at two when took advantage of Smallidge misplaying a Whitney Strong (R-So., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) and scored with 48 seconds to go in the first half.

Verdoia set up Taylor Ritzman for a Seattle 3-2 lead at 50:31. Verdoia's 10th goal of the year at 75:31 made it a two goal advantage before Regefalk's third goal of the day came 18 seconds later. Natasha Howe scored in the 79th and 82nd minutes to make it the final 6-3. Verdoia would finish with three assists to go along with her two goals.

Regefalk's hat trick is the third for CSUB at the Division I level and 11th overall for a member of the Roadrunner program. Strong also had an assist on Regefalk's third goal. Her two assists are the first for her as a member of the 'Runners.

Bakersfield (1-10-1, 0-2 WAC) will head to Utah Valley Friday night. The kick is set for 7:30 p.m. (MDT).
