4 'Runners Earn ASC Academic Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill.--Four Bakersfield players have been selected to the America Sky Men's Golf Conference All-Academic Team.

Earning the honor for the Roadrunners were senior Matt Hammons, junior Chase Goodvin, sophomore Dylan Lym, and freshman Matthew Deford.

A total of 50 players were selected to the ASC All-Academic team, the most in league history with all 12 America Sky institutions being represented.

“Time management is vital for student-athletes, and these 50 young men have proven they have found the right balance between academics and their sport,” said America Sky Commissioner Ed Grom. “Each America Sky institution is well-represented on the team, and the athletes, their coaches and their administrations are to be commended.”

To be eligible for the America Sky All-Academic Team student-athletes must post a grade point average of 3.2 or better during the academic year.

This was the final year for the Roadrunners in the ASC as the program moves to the Western Athletic Conference this Fall.
