BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The CSU Bakersfield women's golf team finished fifth at the CSUB Spring Invitational Tuesday at the Bakersfield Country Club. The Roadrunners shot 324 over the final 18 for a 54-hole total of 1,001. Cal State State Northridge (916) took home team honors.

Malea Miller (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., BakersfieldCollege) turned in the top Bakersfield performance. She tallied her lowest round of the tournament, a 78, on Tuesday to come home in a tie for 12th with two other golfers. Northridge's Elisabeth Haavardsho who recorded a course record 67 on Monday, took home the medalist honors with a three-under par 219 (74-67-78).

Jordanne Barr (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) tied for 17th (249) with one other player. Lauren Holbrook (So., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) tied for 19th (252) with one other. Micah Lopez (So., Bakersfield, Calif., East Bakersfield HS) and Michelle Martel (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) tied for 22nd (255). Lexi Keeter (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) was 26th (276).

“This was our team's first experience walking 36 holes in one day,” said CSUB coach Tony Bernardin. “Our average team score on day two was almost 20 strokes better which is encouraging. We have one more dual against Cal State Northridge, but this tournament should help us prepare for the West Coast Conference Championships.”

The Roadrunners are next up Apr. 7 when CSUB hosts Cal State Northridge in a dual at Bakersfield Country Club.
