BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Alyssa Shannon (So., Bakersfield, Calif., Stockdale HS) scored a career high 20 points to lead Bakersfield past Fresno Pacific 81-49 Monday night.

The 5-2 point guard was 6-of-8 from the field, 4-of-5 from three point range. Shannon was also 4-of-4 from the free throw line and dished out four assists. Batabe Zempare (So., Accra, Ghana, Scottsdale Chapparal HS) tallied her third double-double of the year, going for 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Freshman forward Brittany Sims (Fresno, Calif., Edison HS) scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds, and blocked two shots. Brooklynn Hinkens (Jr., Lake Tapps, Wash., Auburn-Riverside HS) scored 11 points.

The Roadrunners scored 20 points off of 20 Sunbirds' turnovers. CSUB outrebounded Fresno Pacific 42-27 and outscored the Sunbirds 40-26 in paint.

"I like the style of game we played tonight," said Bakersfield head coach Greg McCall. "We did a better job defensively in the second half. Alyssa showed everybody what she can do. This was a good game for us to get ready for conference."

The Roadrunners have one remaining non-conference game. Bakersfield travels to Cal State Northridge Thursday for a 7 p.m. tip before opening WAC play at Utah Valley Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. (PST).
