BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Loyola Marymount defeated CSU Bakersfield 2-0 in women's soccer action Friday night.

The Lions (4-1) got on the board first when Brianne Medved converted a penalty kick in the 10th minute. Tawni Martino took a long pass from Darien Pyka just under five minutes later and scored from the 18.

The Lions outshot the Roadrunners 10-4. CSUB goalie Tori Ornela (R-Fr., Lemoore, Calif., Lemoore HS) made six saves on the nine LMU shots on goal.

"We have seen progression year by year and since the start of the season, game by game," said CSUB head coach Melissa Phillips. "We need to take care of the critical areas of the year and ultimately work harder to move forward."

The Roadrunners host Fresno Pacific Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
