PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. — Sophomore Chase Goodvin (Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) carded an 82 in the final day of the Triumph at Pauma Valley men's golf tournament to finish in a tie for 30th place to lead the CSU Bakersfield men's golf team on Tuesday.
After rounds of 79 and an even-71 on Monday, Goodvin posted an 82 on Tuesday to finish the two-day, 54-hole tournament with a 232. As a team the 'Runners took eighth in the 11-team field and recorded their lowest team round on Tuesday at 312 to finish with a 944 (319-313-312). Host University of San Francisco won the team title with a score of 865.
CSUB's Matt Hammons (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Highland HS) tied for 40th with a 235 (81-78-76), Daniel Richardson (Jr., Surrey, England, Reedley College) tied for 55th after shooting a 240 (80-81-79) and Jason Errecart (Sr., Kerman, Calif., Kerman HS) carded a 242 (80-83-79) to finish in a tie for 55th.
Don Ji Hwan Park finished atop the leaderboard with a 214 (70-77-67).
The 'Runners will now take a break from their competition schedule before returning to action at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational April 2-3.
