BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Mitchell Huxhold (So., Escondido, Calif., San Pasqual HS) won two events as CSU Bakersfield defeated Fresno Pacific 194-94 Saturday afternoon.
Huxhold earned the titles in the 200 free (1:42.82) and the 500 free (4:40.57). Huxhold has won five of the seven individual races he has entered this season. CSUB won a total of nine swimming events with Troy Neklason (So., Seattle, Wash., Aviation HS) winning both diving events. Neklason is a perfect 6-for-6 this season in diving events through the first three duals.
The Roadrunners clinched the dual entering the final race of the day, the 200 freestyle relay and elected not to score in that race. CSUB is 3-0 this season in dual competition.
"We overcame a tough week of practice," said CSUB director of swimming Chris Hansen. "We are racing well right now. I believe we are right where we want to be heading into the Arizona State dual and the Arena Invitational."
CSUB taks on Arizona State next Friday at UCLA with the dual getting underway at 12 p.m.
