2014-15 (SENIOR): Named WAC Swimmer of the Week Nov. 25 after a standout week at the A3 Performance Invite…At A3 meet, won all three individual events he raced in, led two relay teams to Top 6 finishes, and eventually was named Swimmer of the Meet…Recorded NCAA B cuts in three events (200, 500, and 1650 free) and raced at NCAA Championships in all three after being invited for time in 1650 free…Before NCAAs, finished first in 26 out of 29 individual event races…Won the WAC titles for 200 free (1:36.30), 500 free (4:17.37), and 1650 free (14:56.84)…The first two times were season bests while best time in 1650 free came in 19th-place finish at NCAAs (14:56.75)…Finished 51st at NCAAs in prelim of 500 free and 39th in prelim of 200 free...Took a leg of two different relay squads which both posted second-best time in CSUB history: 200 free (1:21.08) and 800 free (6:30.09).
2013-14 (JUNIOR): Reset the school record in the 500 free twice at the WAC Championship before lowering it again to 4:16.71 in the preliminaries of the NCAA Championship…Qualified for both the 500 free as well as the 200 and 1650 free as Bakersfield’s first-ever representative at the NCAA Division I Championship…Finished 16th in the finals of the NCAAs in the 500 free and 17th in the 1650…Was profiled by Swimming World for his accomplishments including being named the Western Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year after being crowned WAC Champion in the 500 and 1650 free…His time in the mile shattered the former CSUB record by 27 seconds…Earned All-Conference Honors at the WAC Championship in the 200 free (fourth, 2nd Team), 500 free (first, 1st Team), and 1650 free (first, 1st Team)…Received the Flachmann Award-Male (Best Athlete) at the 2014 Rowdys…Named the male winner of the Joe Kearney Award, given annually to the WAC’s top student-athlete…Was on the 200, 400, and 800 relay teams which posted season best times including an NCAA “B” cut and school record in the 800 free (6:27.76)…Broke into the Bakersfield Top 5 All-Time list in the 100 free and now holds five school records (200, 500, 1000, and 1650 free, 800 free relay).
2012-13 (SOPHOMORE): Selected for the 2013 USA Swimming Men’s National Water Select Camp...Swam in the trials for the 2013 World University Games in the 200, 400, and 1500 freestyle events...Posted a lifetime best mark of 15:40.26 in the 1500 meters in the U.S. Open Swimming Championships (eight seconds faster than previous career best)...The time qualifies Huxhold for the 2016 US Olympic Trials...Went 3:57.69 in the 400 freestyle at the U.S. Open...Was 20th in the 800 freestyle (8:19.01) at the U.S. Open...A part of the Roadrunner Aquatics Club 800 free relay team that reset the club record (7:35.67) at the U.S. Open...The time was the 10th quickest in the competition...reset the school record in the 200 free (1:37.25), 500 free (4:21.50), 1000 free (9:02.44), and 1650 free (15:08.61)...Helped reset the school mark in the 800 free relay, swimming the third leg as the team posted a time of 6:32.06...Won the 500 free at the MPSF Championship...Won eight 500 free races (in 10 attempts)...Earned first place in the 1000 free six times (in seven tries)...Won the 200 free at the Fresno Pacific dual and was third in the event at the MPSF Championship...chosen Academic All-Conference.
2011-12 (FRESHMAN): Qualified for the 2012 United States Olympic Trials in the 400 freestyle and the 1500 freestyle...Posted a school record (long course) time of 8:21.29 in the 800 split of the 1,500 at the Olympic Team Trials...Finished with a time of 15:52.00 to take 48th place out of 91 swimmers...In a field of 111, Huxhold clocked a time of 4:00.24 in the qualifying round of the 400 at the trials to place 63rd...Named MPSF Freshman of the Year...Won the 1650 free on the final day of the MPSF Championships by breaking the school record (15:09.07) with his 1000 split (9:08.09) being the third quickest in school history...His 1650 time was an NCAA “B” Cut as well...Won his heat of the 500 Free at the conference meet before finishing fourth in the event finals...Was also the first to stop the clock in the 500 and 1000 freestyles at the UC San Diego dual, as well as the 500 at the Pacific dual...Named the MPSF Athlete of the Week following his efforts in La Jolla on Jan. 14.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2011 graduate of San Pasqual High School...Coach was Ed Talbott...Holds the school records in the 200 and 500 freestyle...His times rank among the top five in San Pasqual history in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, and 200 IM...Named team MVP as a sophomore and as a junior...Earned school’s Rookie of the Year award as a freshman.
PERSONAL: Born June 9, 1993...Son of Mark and Michelle Huxhold…A computer information system major getting a minor in business management…Plans to be a game tester after his time at CSUB.
