BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--For the second week in a row freshman Michaela Paige (Lompoc, Calif., Cabrillo HS) won two events as CSU Bakersfield defeated Pacific 156-132 in a women's swimming dual.
Paige earned victories in the 1000 freestyle (10:35.97) and the 200 butterfly (2:06.22). She also finished third in the 500 freestyle and was part of the CSUB 400 "B" relay that was second to its teammates on the Roadrunner "A" relay.
CSUB won both relays (200 medley and 400 free) with Jordan Reed (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) winning the 1m and the 3m diving events. Lauren Kaufman (So., Renton, Wash., TCU) won the 50 free with Lily Donohue (Sr., Portland, Ore., Boise State) winning the 200 back.
"I am floored with how well our freshman are peforming right now," said CSUB director of swimming Chris Hansen. "To see such a young team respond well to the pressure of this level is outstanding."
The Roadrunners host Fresno Pacific next Saturday beginning at noon.
