CSUB Wins 1-of-3 Women?s Swim Duals At Fresno St.

FRESNO, Calif.-CSU Bakersfield won 1-of-3 women's swimming duals at Fresno State Saturday afternoon. The Roadrunners defeated Cal State East Bay 177-83. CSUB fell to San Diego State 189-90 and 206-87 to Fresno State.

Rachel McCall (Sr., Calgary, Alberta, National Sport School) won the 100 freestyle in a time of :52.34. She finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:53.47), second in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.28).

McCall, Louise Westergren (Jr., Malmo, Sweden, Pro Civitas HS), Isabell Nystrom (Sr., Stockholm, Sweden, Limestone College), and Lily Donahue (Jr., Portland, Ore., Boise State) comprised the CSUB 400 freestyle relay that finished second by recording a time of 3:37.77.

“I am bummed I didnt get to see the ladies swim fast today and we will try to never have split meets again,” said CSUB director of swimming Chris Hansen. “Rachel McCall had a lot of swims today and came out with great times in all races. We should not lose to CSU East Bay and this small squad of ladies knew that. They showed up to win!”

CSUB returns to the pool Jan. 20 when the Roadrunners host San Jose State in a 11 a.m. dual.
