CSUB Swimming Announces 2011-12 Schedule

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.---CSU Bakersfield Director of Swimming Chris Hansen has announced the 2011-12 scheduled for the Roadrunners' teams.

The CSUB men open the season Saturday, Oct. 22 at the USC Invitational. The Roadrunner women begin 2011-12 the following Saturday when both teams host Pacific in a dual. The weekend of Nov. 4-5 sends the CSUB divers to the USC Invitational while the swimmers head to Stockton for a quad against Air Force, Pacific, and Seattle University.

Both teams are home again Friday, Nov. 11 when the Roadrunners host UC Santa Cruz. The first half of the season wraps up with the Trtion Classic Nov. 17-19 and the AT&T Short Course Nationals (in Atlanta, Ga.) Dec. 1-3.

The new year gets underway Jan. 7 when the Roadrunner women host San Jose State. The teams split Jan. 14 when the men travel to Los Angeles for a dual against UC San Diego at Loyola Marymount while the women take part in a tri-dual at Fresno State with the Bulldogs and Cal State East Bay.

The women host UC Davis Jan. 21 with the regular season coming to the end Jan. 28 when the men host Cal Baptist and the women hosting Cal Baptist and Loyola Marymount.

The MPSF Swimming and Diving Championships will be contested Wednesday Feb. 15-18. The swimming portion of the league meet will be held in Long Beach, Calif. while the diving meet will be conducted at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The on the men's side, the MPSF adds Air Force, BYU, Denver, Hawaii, UNLV, and Wyoming to the league while BYU joins the women's action.

HANSEN ON THE MEN'S SCHEDULE
“The MPSF is a week earlier this year, so we had to drop Stanford and Cal, due to our taper, we will pick them back up next year. I am psyched to add USC and Air Force.  The addition of UNLV, Air Force, Wyoming, BYU, Denver and Hawaii has made MPSF one of the strongest swimming conference.

HANSEN ON THE WOMEN'S SCHEDULE
“The women have added Air Force to our dual meet schedule.  I hope to add more top teams in the future.  BYU has joined the MPSF. making it a 10-team conference.  We hope to start climbing the MPSF rankings this year.”
