Wash.---Gonzaga (22-9) defeated CSUB (9-18) 96-49 Feb. 28 at the McCarthey
Athletic Center.
Donavan
Bragg (Sr., Inglewood, Calif., Serra HS) led the Roadrunners with a game high 17
points. Rashad Savage (Jr., Philadelphia, Pa., Odessa JC) scored 10 points and
grabbed eight rebounds. Stephon Carter (So., Bakersfield, Calif., Garces HS)
had nine points and six rebounds.
Gonzaga
led 49-31 at halftime and came out of the break on a 16-2 run that broke the
game open. CSUB was limited to just seven field goals in the closing frame.
Gonzaga shot 50-percent from the field (33-of-66) and made 11-of-29 three-point
field goal attempts.
Robert
Sacre and Sam Dower led the Zags as the pair each scored 16 points. Mathis
Moenninghoff scored 12 while Elias Harris had 10.
"Gonzaga
is a really good team," said CSUB Head Coach Keith Brown. "I thought when we
were able to execute our gameplan we were successful. We didn't start the
second half as we planned, we took some shots we didn't have to take."
The
Roadrunners end the 2010-11 season Wednesday night at Boise State. Tipoff is
