Cal State Northridge Defeats CSU Bakersfield 3-0

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—Cal State Northridge (7-9-2) defeated CSU Bakersfield (3-13-1) 3-0 in women's soccer action Sunday night.

Marissa Miller put the Matadors into the lead when she scored at 24:13. Haley Chee scored at 38:55 to give Cal State Northridge a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime. Jessica Yukihiro added an insurance goal for the Matadors at the 57:56 mark.

“I was very pleased with our performance and the progress we have made,” said CSUB head coach Melissa Phillips. “We would like to be at the other end of this result, but with the talent we have in the youth of this group, we are confident that we will get there."

The Roadrunners conclude the 2011 season next Sunday when CSUB travels to the University San Francisco for a 1 p.m. match.
