Knight High School Sprinter Taylor Signs With Roadrunners

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -
One of the CIF Southern Section's top sprinters, Jordan Taylor, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the CSUB track and field program Head Coach Alan Collatz announced Wednesday. Taylor finished an outstanding prep career at William Pete Knight High School in Palmdale, Calif., last month.

Taylor marked a season–best 10.53 in the 100 meters this season, winning the Golden League title by over .6 seconds. He also recorded his lowest 200 meter time of 21.72 in the same meet, winning by .98 seconds over his nearest competitor. He became a triple league title holder by anchoring his 4x100 relay to a win in 42.83 seconds. During the regular season, Taylor capture the highly–competitive 100 in the seeded high school section of the Mt. SAC Relays in 10.64.

“Building a competitive sprint squad was a point of emphasis for our recruiting this year,” said Collatz. “We believe Jordan can step right in and be competitive right away at the collegiate level. We are very excited to have him be apart of our program next season.”
