Roadrunners Close Season with Nine Victories at Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. - The CSUB track and field teams concluded its 2010 season with a nine-win performance at the Fresno State Dual Saturday at Warmerdam Field. The Roadrunners captured five wins on the women's side and four more on the mens side while achieving 13 season-best marks.

The lone double-winner on the day was freshman Dayshan Ragans who won the discus (167-10) and the shot put (50-09.25), both season-best marks. Junior Jose Lopez won the 3,000 meter steeple chase in 10:13.28 and junior Edward Lee was victorious in the 1,500 in 4:03.33. Other top marks included junior Ryan Nichols in the 100 (10.82) and the 200 (21.93), senior Ryan Lucker in the 800 (1:55.84) and senior Alex Haver in the javelin (183-07).

On the women's side, junior Arianna Celis captured the 800 in 2:16.05 and classmate Casey Glassey won the 3,000 in a season-best time of 10:39.54. Freshman Yesmin Tanguma won the 3,000 steeple chase in a season-low time of 12:48.06. Senior Connie King won the 400 meter hurdles (1:04.94) and junior Briana Woodfox won the long jump (17-01.50). Sophomore Ashley Nolasco finished second in the 800 in 2:16.89, a season-best mark. Sophomore Princess Watts also ran a season-low 48.86 in the 400 and teammed with junior Klarissa Stovall, senior Jenah Kincaid and King in the 1,600 meter relay to place second in 4:01.97.

"We had a lot of good performances today," said Head Coach Alan Collatz. "Our women's 800 was really strong with Celis winning and (Ashley) Nolasco hitting a personal record. Alex Haver had a big personal record in the javelin. Dayshan had a big double win for us. I am really happy with the way it went today."

This concludes CSUB's 2010 season. The Roadrunners will be eligible for NCAA Divison I Championship qualification marks beginning next season.
