COLUMBUS,
Ohio-CSUB Junior Rachel McCall (Calgary, Alberta, National Sport School) turned
in a NCAA "B" Cut time in the 100 freestyle in school history on the final day
of the AT&T Short Course National Championships at the Bill and Mae
McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion on the campus of The Ohio State University.
McCall's
:50.20 time in the 100 freestyle finals made the NCAA "B" Cut by three-one
hundreth's (:50.23) and is the second fastest in school history. McCall turned in a time of :50.45 during the
preliminaries which is the third quickest in school history.
Stephanie
Donnelly (Sr. Halifax, Nova Scotia, Halifax West HS) took part in the 100
butterfly time trials during the final day and charted a season best time in
the event (:57.57).
"Rachel
really nailed one today," said CSUB Head Coach Pat Skehan. "The goal for today was to reach the "B" cut
and that's what she did. It was a great
weekend and a good building block as we move forward this season."
The
Roadrunners return to the pool next weekend when CSUB competes in the UNLV
Invitational Saturday, Dec. 11-Monday, Dec. 13.
