BAKERSFIELD,
Calif.-The CSUB Women's Swimming team heads to the Arena Invitational for three
days of competition this week. The
Arena Invitational is schedule to run from Thursday, Nov. 18-Saturday, Nov. 20
at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach.
Preliminaries
will commence at 9:30 a.m. daily (except Saturday, when it starts at 9 a.m.)
for the Men, followed by the "A" flight of Women (approximately 11:30
a.m.) and then the "B" flight of Women's Finals beginning nightly at
6:00 p.m., with four heats of every event.
In addition
to the Roadrunners (who are not fielding a full team), scheduled to compete in
the event are No. 1 Stanford, No. 5 California, No. 23 San Diego State, No. 24
UCLA, Arizona State, BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Loyola
Marymount, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Jose State, UC Davis, UC Santa
Barbara, host UC San Diego, University of San Diego, UNLV, and Utah.
Heading
into the Arena Invitational, CSUB's Rachel McCall is seeded sixth in the 50
freestyle while the Roadrunner 200 Freestyle Relay is ranked No. 7.
"This will
be the fastest meet that we have entered so far this year," said CSUB head
coach Pat Skehan. "We hope to put up performances that will help make the cut
at the US Senior Nationals."
