NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — Competing in the 200 breast for the first time at the collegiate level, Rachel McCall raced to a 2:23.28 finish at Cal State Northridge Thursday, recording the second fastest time in CSUB history and helping the CSUB women's swim team to a 147-115 win over the Matadors.

The Roadrunners won eight total events and set a number of personal and season records in their second dual win of the season.

“This was one of the best team performances we've had all year,” said Head Coach Pat Skehan. “This was a good meet for us and our depth showed through. We had a lot of people step up and score points.”

McCall won three events and was second in a fourth to lead the Roadrunner charge. Her personal best 2:23.28 was nearly seven seconds faster than her nearest competitor and was just .03 seconds off the CSUB record set by Joanna Scrutchins in 2004. McCall also won the 200 free in 1:56.50, the 50 free in 24.60 and was second in the 500 free in a season best 5:30.37.

Freshman Olivia Ramos had a big day, winning both the 500 free and 1,000 free, both in personal-record times. She claimed the shorter distance in 5:20.58 and the latter in 11:01.71.

Also taking first place was Louise Westergren in the 100 free (54.30) and Stephanie Donnelly in the 200 back (2:08.43).

Kori Thomas swam a personal best 1:17.59 in the 100 breast, Bonny Bordwell had a season-best 2:26.76 finish in the 200 back and Elaine Kelly had a season-best 2:50.27 finish in the 200 IM.

The Roadrunners return to the Hillman Aquatics Center for the final time this season to face UC Santa Cruz and San Jose State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
