Men?s Golf Finishes Play at Colorado-Stevinson Ranch Invitational

STEVINSON, Calif. - The CSUB men's golf team finished the final round with a combined score of 308 Tuesday at the Colorado-Stevinson Ranch Invitational in Stevinson, Calif. The ?Runners placed 14th in the field that was won by the University of Nevada. Pat Grady from the host Buffalos won the individual title, shooting an eight-under par 208 during the three rounds of play. Tuesday's round was played primarily through gusty wind and rain as only nine players in the field managed to shoot under par.

Richie Kernagis tied for 39th as the top Roadrunner individual this week. He shot a third round 76 to finish with a total of 226. Nick Baratelle tied for 44th and Adam Frey finished in a tie for 63rd. Kyle Morrison had the low round of the day, carding a 74 to finish with a 233. James Moseley shot a combined 235 after a third round of 84.

“We hit a lot of good shots today but there was still too much inconsistency,” Head Coach Dave Barber said. “The elements today were tough and we didn't respond well. Kernagis' two-under 70 yesterday was a bright spot for us though. We just need to refocus for our meet on Saturday then concentrate on going to Michigan State to finish our season strong.”

The ?Runners will host Cal Poly for a dual meet on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m at Bakersfield Country Club.
