Course Plays Tough on Day One of Cal Poly Invitational

Men's Golf Places Fourth at Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. ? The CSUB men's golf team concluded play Sunday at the Fossum Invitational at the Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich. The 'Runners improved by one shot in the second round and finished in fourth place out of 12 teams. Host Michigan State won the event. Rain shortened the event as the teams only played nine holes to make up the third round of play.

Adam Frey was CSUB's top scorer, finishing in a tie for fifth at two-over par. James Moseley, who had the Roadrunners' low round of the tournament (71 on Saturday), finished in a tie for seventh at 3-over par. Moseley and Nick Baratelle, who finished in a tie for 29th, each shot 76 in the second round. Richie Kernagis (T29) and Kyle Morrison (T43) each had +5 rounds of 77 in the second round. Jason Errecart, who played as an individual, finished in a tie for 49th. In the third round, Frey and Morrison each shot one-under par while Moseley and Kernagis were even par.

"The last nine we played went really well for us," Head Coach Dave Barber said. "We had a good finish and it was a great experience for us."
