Lucker Wins 800 as CSUB Competes at Tommy Lister Invitational

LOS ANGELES ? The CSUB men's and women's track and field teams competed Saturday afternoon at the Tommy Lister Invitational hosted by Cal State L.A. The 'Runners improved upon eight season-best marks at the meet which included teams from USC, Cal State Northridge and Cal State Fullerton as well as numerous unattached athletes.

Ryan Nichols had a pair of season best perofrmances, running 10.81 in the 100 meters and 22.04 in the 200 meters. In both races, he won his heat. Ryan Lucker won the 800 meters in 1:55.10 and Edward Lee won the second section of the race in 1:59.42. Clayton Morovich had a personal best in the hammer throw with a toss of 153-01.

On the women's side, Sheena Cooper lowered her 200 meter dash time, running 25.91. Katherine Patrick finished the 3,000 in a personal best time of 11:05.38. Isabella Kasselstrand took fourth place in the hammer throw with a mark of 121-08.

"Both Nichols and lucker had good days for us," Head Coach Alan Collatz said. "It was a windy day out there and it created some problems running but I though our kids competed well. We will just take the week and gear up for Fresno State."

The Roadrunners conclude their season next Saturday at Fresno State in a dual meet.
