CSUB Finishes Play at Lexus Classic Golf Tournament

FRESNO, Calif. - The CSUB men's golf team had a nine shot improvement from yesterday's second round as it concluded play Tuesday at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic at Belmont Country Club in Fresno, Calif. The ?Runners shot a combined 305 to finish 20th in a competitive field that featured four teams in the nation's top 36.

Senior Adam Frey shot a 74 to finish with a 230 over the three rounds. Nick Baratelle carded CSUB's low round of the day at 73 to finish with a total of 232. Richie Kernagis shot a final round of 76 to finish at 238 and Jason Errecart had an 82 for a total of 241. Kyle Morrison also had an 82 today to finish with a total of 249.

“We had a couple bright spots today,” Head Coach Dave Barber said. “This was a strong field but we have a lot of work to do in the next couple of weeks. We have some things that need to be corrected, things that will help us lower our scores.”

The start of Tuesday's third round was delayed one hour due to frost on the ground.

The University of Washington won the event with a combined three-round total of 865. The Huskies' total was five shots better than that of host Fresno State who placed second. UC Davis' Ramie Sprinkling won the event with a 4-under par 212.

The ?Runners will take the next couple weekends off before heading to the Cal Poly Invitational on March 26-27.
