STANFORD, Calif. ? Taking on the No. 2 nationally ranked Stanford Cardinal, the CSUB men's swim team got solid times from a number of members in a 142-97 dual loss.
“We swam well,” said Roadrunner Head Coach Chris Hansen. “We knew going in that they're No. 2 in the country, but we do this for the experience.”
Senior Nathan Vizcarra had a solid 9:51.97 fifth-place finish in the 1000 free to start the individual events. He followed that with a 2:04.12 season-best mark in the 200 backstroke.
Sophomore Luka Leskur turned in one of his best marks of the season in the 100 back, finishing second in 51.72. Leskur also had a 1:55.36 time in the 200 back.
Henry Holmberg was the Roadrunners' top point-earner in the 500 free (4:50.06), Rene Hjorth was the top ?Runner in the 100 fly (52.11) and Sampo Sissala earned that honor in the 200 individual medley (2:01.43).
Bakersfield travels to Berkeley Saturday for its final dual of the season, a 1 p.m. start against Cal.
