2008: Sampo Sissala earned placewinner status in three events at the Conference USA Championships...his season-best mark of 1:51.73 in the 200 fly was good for fifth place while his season-best 1:55.05 time in the 200 IM was good for seventh place...he also placed seventh in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.21...other season-best marks were 47.68 in the 100 free, 52.08 in the 100 fly and 4:17.74 in the 400 IM.

2007: Sissala recorded season-best times of 1:40.48 in the 200 free, 49.76 in the 100 fly, 1:50.54 in the 200 fly and 1:54150 in the 200 IM...all marks were set at the California/Nevada Sectional Meet.

2006: Sissala placed sixth at the NCAA DII Championships with a season-best time of 49.59 in the 100 fly...also turned in season-best times of 46.46 in the 100 free, 1:41.66 in the 200 free, 1:51.76 in the 200 fly and 1:53.28 in the 200 IM...member of the 200 free relay that placed second at the NCAA DII Championships.

MAKELANRINNE HS: Sissala swam for Mika Kekalainen at Makelanrinne HS in Helsinki...participated in setting the 24-hour world swimming record (184,994 meters) along with 19 other people in 2005.

PERSONAL: Sissala is a business administration major at CSUB...also earning a minor in management...parents are Lauri and Tuula Sissala...swam in the European Championships in Helsinki in 2007, placing 29th in the 200 IM (2:07.18) and 28th in the 200 fly (2:02.48).
