LOS ANGELES — Senior Victoria Kreutz scored a 232.25 in the finals of the one-meter springboard diving event Saturday to claim sixth place at the USC Diving Invitational. Five total CSUB divers competed in at the meet, including Kreutz, Hannah Yoder, Jordan Reed, Bryce Ogden and Daniel Hernandez.
In the first diving competition of the season for the Roadrunners, Kreutz scored 226.50 on six dives in Saturday morning preliminaries of the one-meter. That score was the seventh highest, earning her a spot in the eight-member finals. Yoder and Reed scored 180.30 and 156.85, respectively, in the one-meter preliminaries.
On Friday, Kreutz came up less than two points shy of making the top-eight in the three-meter event, scoring 241.35, to place ninth. Yoder scored 205.50 and Reed finished with a 172.50.
On the men's side, freshman Bryce Ogden scored 204.65 in the one-meter prelims and 236.05 in the three-meter prelims. Hernandez finished with scores of 132.70 in the one-meter and 138.75 in the three-meter.
While their swimming counterparts compete in a pair of invitationals over the upcoming weeks, the women divers will not return to competition until Dec. 5 in a dual against San Diego State. The men will compete on Dec. 19 in a dual against Cal Baptist.
