LONG BEACH, Calif. — Rachel McCall, Rachel Holm and Stephanie Donnelly continued to rewrite the CSUB women's swimming record book with top five performances in the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly Friday at the Toshiba Classic.
McCall and Holm now hold the No. 2 and No. 4 spots, respectively, on CSUB's all-time top five list in the 100 breast. McCall swam a 1:05.42 Friday evening, placing 17th overall in the event. Holm placed 23rd in the finals, but her 1:05.81 preliminary time is the fourth best in Roadrunner history.
Donnelly, meanwhile, added her name to a third top five last with a 57.56 time in the preliminaries of the 100 fly. She is currently fifth in the event.
“We had a really, really good day,” said Head Coach Pat Skehan. “Every event went really well. We had two people earn lifetime bests in the 400 IM and Stephanie had a really good day in the 100 fly and 100 back. Our second day here was better than the first, so we're looking forward to the third and final day.”
The Roadrunner relay teams also turned in solid times Friday night. The 200 medley relay squad of Donnelly, Holm, Louise Westergren and Brooke Penney placed 17th in 1:48.72 and the 800 free relay squad of Westergren, Olivia Ramos, Michelle Kroll and Donnelly was 18th in 7:58.54.
