STOCKTON, Calif. — Rachel McCall placed first in two events and Stephanie Donnelly added one first-place finish as the CSUB women's swim team raced well, but fell 151-109 to the University of Pacific Saturday.
McCall won the 100 breast in a time of 1:06.54 and the 100 free in a time of 1:54.01. Donnelly, meanwhile, took the 200 back in 2:09.80 while also placing second in the 100 back (1:00.86) and the 100 fly (59.49).
“Rachel's time in the 100 breast is not a time she reached until conference last year and Steph being under 2:10 this early in the 200 back are both great achievements,” said Head Coach Pat Skehan. “Rachel Holm also did well and Michelle was right with Steph in the back events. Brooke and Louise also raced well for us in the sprints and relays.”
Holm's best finish was a second-place, 2:28.28 time in the 200 breast. She also finished third in the 200 IM (2:14.14) and the 100 breast in a season-best time of 1:08.97.
Michelle Kroll placed third in both the 100 and 200 back events, touching the wall in 1:02.82 and 2:14.80, respectively. Louise Westergren and Brooke Penney went two-three in the 50 free in time of 25.00 and 25.21, respectively. Penney also placed third in the 100 free in 55.70.
Other top times for CSUB included Leah Felber's second-place, 5:23.03 in the 500 free and Renee Roy's third-place season-best 11:24.41 in the 1000 free.
“We had a lot of good swims in every race today,” said Skehan. “We were way down in the team scoring midway through and came back and made it a good meet.”
The Roadrunners return to training until Nov. 19-21 when they head to Long Beach for the Toshiba Classic.
