For a few hours on Wednesday, May 28, CSUB won't be the only university of Stockdale Highway. That's because CSUB Athletics and McDonald's Restaurant on the corner of Stockdale and California in Bakersfield are teaming up to create McUniversity.

McDonald's will be donating a portion of the revenue generated between 5 and 8 p.m. to CSUB's Rowdy About Reading program. Roadrunner coaches, student-athletes and administrators will be volunteering as celebrity servers in an effort to raise funds for the popular read?for?rewards program which reaches thousands of Kern County school children each year.

“Rowdy About Reading is an important and popular program which has grown by leaps and bounds every year,” says CSUB Athletics Director of Sales and Marketing Karen Langston. “We are very grateful to McDonald's for providing this opportunity to help raise money in support of youth literacy in Bakersfield.”
