LA JOLLA, Calif. ? Victoria Kreutz won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, helping the CSUB women's swim team to a strong team finish against the UC San Diego Tritons Sunday in La Jolla. CSUB was joined in the meet by UCSD and UC Davis, but only scored against the Tritons.
“We had a lot of good times today,” said Roadrunner Head Coach Pat Skehan. “We've had 21 season-bests over the weekend which is great.”
Freshman Rachel McCall had Bakersfield's top time in the 50 free once again, placing third in 25.43. Senior Veronica Campbell finished just behind her teammate, turning in a 25.54, fourth place time. Campbell also earned a third place finish in the 100 free in a time of 55.85.
Senior Lexi Kelly was third in the 400 individual medley, touching the wall in 4:53.58, while also finishing the 200 fly in 2:20.10.
Kreutz scored 269.65 points off the 3-meter board, earning top honors in the field of seven. Teammate Hannah Yoder followed in second place with a score of 202.95. Kreutz and Yoder went one-two off the 1-meter board as well, but individual scores for the event were unavailable.
Next up for CSUB is the UCI Nike Cup on Nov. 20-22 in Long Beach, followed by a home dual on Dec. 6 against San Diego State.
