SAN DIEGO ? Raymundo Reza tallied his first career hat trick and assisted a fourth goal for San Diego State as the CSUB men's soccer team fell 4-0 in its season finale Sunday at the SDSU Sports Deck.
Reza scored his sixth goal of the season in the 17th minute of play, catching the ?Runner defense in a lull and using a give-and-go with Danny Ortiz before sending the ball into the left corner of the net from 12 yards out.
Despite nine Aztec shots in the first half, CSUB held the home team to just the one goal in the opening period, aided by three big saves by Steve Trojanowski.
The ?Runners were caught on their heels again to start the second half, as Reza collected a misclear by the CSUB backline, and beat Trojanowski one-on-on to put the Aztecs up 2-0 at the 46:48 mark.
Nine minute later Khadim Diouf gave SDSU a 3-0 advantage, knocking in a rebound after Trojanowski blocked a shot by Reza.
Reza, who earned the assist on the Aztec's third goal, finished off his hat trick in the 80th minute, one-touching a cross from Micho Akazawa into the back of the net.
Without the services of central midfielder Oscar Coppieters, who was sidelined for yellow card accumulation after Friday's match, Bakersfield struggled to build the ball out of the back, finishing the day with just two shots. Trojanowski finished with seven saves in the match.
The Roadrunners finish the season 4-13-0 overall while San Diego State improves to 6-8-3 overall.
