Luck Not A Lady For CSUB In 2-0 Vegas Loss

LAS VEGAS, Nev. ? The CSUB men's soccer team found no luck in Las Vegas, falling to UNLV 2?0 Friday night at Peter Johann Memorial Field on the UNLV campus.

The Roadrunners (2?6?3 overall), already shorthanded on the front line without redshirting forward Ryan Gay, played without leading scorer Towa Manda, who missed the match after picking up his fifth yellow card Wednesday at San Jose State. The result was not shots on goal in the first 55 minutes and precious few forays into the Rebel offense third throughout the match.

UNLV (4?3?2) didn't exactly pepper the Bakersfield goal, putting just two shots on frame in the first half. Both, however found the back of the net. Daniel Cruz scored in the 17th minute to give the Rebels the lead. Lemar Neagle added an insurance tally in the 38th minute.

The match had trouble finding a flow as the teams combined to draw 37 fouls, six yellow cards and two red cards. Junior midfielder Manny Garcia picked up CSUB's first red card of the season in the 77th minute, meaning he will miss the Roadrunners' match at Ohio State Wednesday in Columbus.
