Jodi Grant made her return to the California State University, Bakersfield women's soccer program after serving as a volunteer assistant coach Spring of 2018. Grant enters her first official season as an assistant coach with the Roadrunners in 2022.
Grant was an assistant coach at University of Memphis for thirteen seasons (2001-14) before moving to Bakersfield with husband and men's soccer head coach Richie Grant. Â As an assistant with the Tigers, Grant helped monitor student-athlete academic progress, organize summer and community camps, and develop annual off-season technical skill, motivation, fitness, and nutritional programs.
All totaled during her time in Tennessee, Grant competed in 5 NCAA Division I National Tournaments, won five consecutive Conference USA Championships (2007-11), ranked as high as third nationally with a school season record of 21-1-1, coached five All-Americans and five Academic/Scholar All-Americans, and made a name for herself coaching in club, state, regional and national circuits.
Before coaching, Grant attended the University of Memphis and played soccer (1995-98) for the Lady Tigers. She earned Conference USA All-Conference honors in 1995 and 1997, was a team captain in 1998, and is currently fourth all-time in points, goals scored, overall assists, and assists in a season.
