Madison Aurin

Madison Aurin entered her first season as an Assistant Coach for the CSU Bakersfield softball team in fall of 2019.

A 2019 graduate of San José State, Aurin was a four-year letterwinner for the Spartans and completed a bachelor’s degree in health sciences. She split time as an infielder and a pitcher for SJSU, performing effectively in both roles. Aurin posted a career batting average of .338 on 204 hits, 43 doubles, three triples, and 28 home runs. She tallied 162 RBI and 63 walks while striking out just 32 times in nearly 700 plate appearances. In the field, Aurin posted a career fielding percentage of .991.

In the circle, Aurin moved into a regular role her final two seasons. The lefty posted a career ERA of 2.88 while tallying a 22-15 record on 228.2 innings pitched. Aurin also recorded 68 strikeouts as a Spartan.

Aurin earned a number of honors during her career, including being tabbed NFCA Division I All-Pacific Region twice. She also earned USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Week honors once. Aurin was a three-time All-Mountain West honoree, earning First Team nods in two seasons.

A native of Bakersfield, Calif., Aurin was a standout ball player at Centennial High School. She earned All-Southwest Yosemite League honors three times in her prep career and was tabbed SWYL Most Valuable Player and The Bakersfield Californian All-Area Player of the Year as a junior after batting .533 and going 10-0 in the circle with a 1.32 ERA.

Aurin is currently pursuing a master's degree in public administration.
