Isaac Comelli joined the Cal State Bakersfield Athletics Department in Fall of 2014 and currently serves as the Sports Information Director. He was the Assistant Sports Information Director for the Roadrunners during his first three seasons and was promoted to Sports Information Director in October of 2017. He also oversees the Athletics Department's Creative Services and Broadcasting.

In over 10 years with the Roadrunners, Comelli has served as the primary contact for every sport at one point or another. He wears many hats, taking on responsibilities in communications, media relations, social media strategy and analytics tracking, graphic design, video editing, statistics, PA announcing, broadcast play-by-play and color analyst, and managing a sizeable gameday staff.

Initially connecting with the Athletic Communications department in January of 2013, Comelli started out as a member of the gameday staff. Over time, he was given additional responsibilities and, in August of 2014, he was signed on full time.

Since the 2019-20 season, Comelli has volunteered for the committee that runs the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America program, the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across college sports. He began as a District Coordinator before moving into a National Coordinator role ahead of the 2022-23 season. Most recently, Comelli has overseen the Review Teams for the NCAA DI & DII Men's Swim & Dive and Baseball programs.

In his senior year at his alma mater, Fresno Pacific, Comelli was hired as the Sports Information Student Assistant. He spent the 2009-10 season as the only worker in the Sports Information department. During his year there, Comelli maintained the FPU Athletics website, record books, and the teams’ statistics while he also was the official scorer for baseball games.

A native of Bakersfield, Calif., Comelli graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics from Fresno Pacific in 2010. He lives in Bakersfield with his beautiful wife. The couple have two sons as well as a pair of canine siblings.
