Bruce Burroughs joins the Roadrunner golf program after a long career as a PGA Club pro in Bakersfield. Burroughs, who currently is a teaching pro at the Links at RiverLakes Ranch in northwest Bakersfield, began his career as a teaching pro at Rio Bravo Country Club in 1986. Since then, he has served as assistant or head pro at Bakersfield Country Club and Seven Oaks Country Club.

This will be Burroughs’ first stint as a collegiate coach. He played two seasons of collegiate golf at Los Mendanos College in the late 1970s. He went on to earn his B.A. in business administration at Sacramento State, though he did not play golf for the Hornets.

Burroughs has continued his playing career to the present day and has won at least one Southern California PGA event for 10 consecutive years. In 1999, he qualified for the Los Angeles Open. He is also a three–time winner of the Tournament of Champions in the Northern Chapter PGA.

Burroughs and his wife Paula recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. The couple reside in Bakersfield and have two children.
