Bethany Rapp joined the Cal State Bakersfield Athletics Department in June of 2026, serving as the Associate Athletics Director for Administration. In her role with the Roadrunners, Rapp focuses on improving efficiency across the department’s administrative procedures, policies, and day-to-day operations.
Rapp came to Bakersfield after serving as Assistant Athletics Director for Administration and Operations at Cal Poly Humboldt, where she provided leadership in personnel management, staff recruitment and onboarding, coach contracts, performance evaluation cycles, and organizational staffing plans. She also served as a primary liaison with several key campus units, including human resources, academic personnel, conference and event services, facilities management, catering, and parking.
Rapp’s athletics administration experience includes oversight of event operations for home competitions, logistical coordination with campus stakeholders, supervision and development of full-time and student staff, management of more than 50 student assistants, coordination of non-conference game contracts and guarantees for 13 athletic programs, and facility reservations for internal and external use. Rapp also helped plan and execute major fundraising events, including an athletics auction and golf tournament, and served as project manager for the implementation of department systems such as Teamworks Hub and Vivenue.
Before moving into her most recent athletics role, Rapp served as Interim Procurement Manager at Cal Poly Humboldt, where she managed university-wide procurement strategies, contracts, compliance, audits, and training. She also held roles as Athletics Coordinator of Administration and Lead Travel Program Administrator, gaining extensive experience interpreting CSU and campus policies, developing procedures, training end users, and identifying process improvements.
Rapp earned a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology with an emphasis in pre-physical therapy from Humboldt State University along with a minor in psychology. She also spent nearly four years as a women’s volleyball assistant coach at College of the Redwoods, where she assisted with team operations, travel planning, practices, games, academic support and youth camps.
