2010: Competed in
four tournaments and five duals, compiling an impressive 18-8 overall
record...opened the season with a 6-1 record at the Fullerton Open...dropped four
straight midway through the season, but came on strong late, winning 12 of his
last 15 matches, including the final five of the season...went 5-1 to place third
in the heavyweight division at the California Collegiates.
2009: Returned to
the mats after a year off, compiling a 17-9 overall record...opened the season
with a 3-1, second-place finish at the Fullerton Open...also earned a
second-place finish at the Menlo Invitational and a third-place finish at the
California Collegiates...was 2-2 in duals with wins over Cal Baptist's Dylan
Berg and Cal Poly's Kelan Bragg.
2008: Sat out the
season as a redshirt.
2007: Rounded out
his freshman campaign with a 4-7 record...opened his collegiate career with a
4-2 win over Matt Kimek of Palomar JC at the Fullerton Open...three other
victories came at the Las Vegas Invitational...Morgan earned decisions over
John Buck from The Citadel (4-2) and Broc Maffia from UC Davis (10-4)...also
earned a forfeit win against Anthony Turchetta from Utah Valley.
CENTENNIAL HS:
Joined the Roadrunners from Bakersfield's Centennial High School...had a
successful wrestling career there which included a pair of appearances at the
CIF State Championships...placed fifth in the state as a senior...was a three-time
league champion...placed second at the CIF Central Section Championships as a
junior and senior as well as a fourth-place finish as a sophomore...was third at
the CIF Central Section Master's as a senior and second as a junior...was also a
standout football and track and field athlete.
PERSONAL: A business
administration major...is minoring in sports management and accounting...son of Tom
and Elizabeth Morgan.
