Biography

2006: Brandon Doyle took a huge step toward becoming a major force in the Pac-10 as a junior despite wrestling behind Anthony Baza for much of the year…wrestled to a 17-10 record at 149 pounds and showed that he has the ability to score plenty of point with five technical falls to his credit…opened the season placing seventh at the California Open…his only two losses of that tournament came against Jeff Owens of Cal Poly and Will Brown of Fresno Pacific who placed second and third respectively…earned a technical fall win over Portland State’s Adam Duryee in his first dual match of the year…placed sixth at the Reno Tournament of Champions after an impressive run through the bracket…went 0-2 at the Midlands, but came back with a tournament title at the Menlo College Invitational where he was hardly challenged…his closest match came in the final, which was an 11-5 win over Charlie Pingleton of Indianapolis…he also had a major decision, a technical fall and a pin en route to the tournament title…also placed second at the California Collegiate Invitational…used a pair of technical falls to reach the semifinals where he defeated UC Davis’ Nexi Delgado 7-6…lost to Chadron State’s Mark Pfeiffer 11-7 in the final.

2005: Doyle wrestled to a 3-5 overall record at 149 pounds…earned his first collegiate dual meet victory in an 8-6 overtime win over Nathan Gerrard of Northern Colorado… defeated Gerrard earlier in the season by a 10-7 count at the Las Vegas Invitational.

2004: Doyle saw limited action in a tough 149-pound weight class… finished with an even 4-4 record winning one match by pin and another on a major decision…picked up solo pin over Cal Poly’s Paul Wolfe at the Fullerton Open.
