2015-16 (R-JUNIOR): Entered three open tournaments and posted a 6-5 record...lost in the finals to teammate Matt Williams at the San Francisco State Open 5-4.

2014-15 (R-SOPHOMORE): Lost season opener, 2-0, to Nathan Butler of Stanford...lost both starts at Gilroy Duals and both matches at Roadrunner Open...lost start at Northern Colorado dual...won first match of season at Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational...won his dual start, 12-4 over Nicolas Johnson of Cal Poly Jan. 29...earned top honors at heavyweight at the California Collegiate Open Jan. 31...went 4-0 during the tournament to improve to 7-11...had six-match winning streak ended by Boise State’s Gaylen Edmo, 6-2, Feb. 6...finished season with 7-12 record.

2013-14 (R-FRESHMAN): Posted a 4-6 record in three open tournaments at 197 pounds...moved to heavyweight at the Cal Baptist dual, losing to Jacob Mitchell by pinfall...lost by pin fall during the Oklahoma State dual.

2012-13 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the Bakersfield program...was 0-4 in open tournaments.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2012 graduate of College Park High School...coach was Jim Keck...An All-League selection...holds school records for most takedowns and career pins.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 13, 1994...son of Josue Encarnarcion and Gracie Strand....a physical education and kinesiology major.
