Biography
2012 (JUNIOR): Earned second team All-Conference honors...selected to the ACWPC All-Academic Team...posted 44 goals, 35 assists and 79 points this season...tied with teammate Taylor Hanson for 12th in Division I in assists...was also tied with Hanson for 14th in Division I in steals (55).
2011 (SOPHOMORE): Selected to the ACWPC All-Academic Team...Third on the team in goals (41), assists (28) and ejections drawn (44)...fourth on the squad in steals (29)...added seven blocks.
2010 (FRESHMAN): Selected to the ACWPC All-Academic Team...scored 17 goals...tallied 32 steals, the third highest mark on the team...also drew 25 ejections and had 22 assists.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Rand Park HS in Johannesburg, South Africa...named Best Defender at the National School Tournament...voted team MVP...served as captain in 2008....earned best defender honors at the Interprovincial Tournament in 2008...team won the 2008 National Championship...also played netball and played for the provincial U-19 team.
PERSONAL: Born Aug. 2, 1990...daughter of Travers and Gillian Shead...a history major...father, Travers, played water polo for the South Africa national team in the 1980s.
