athy Kinoshita lends her swimming experience and Bakersfield background to the ’Runners in her 12th year as CSUB’s assistant coach. Before working with the university team, Kinoshita was an age-group coach for the local USS team.

Kinoshita attended West High School and swam for both her high school and junior college teams. She has worked for the Kern High School District as a special education instructor for over 25 years and is currently head of the special education department.

Kinoshita was the swim coach for the Stockdale High School Swim Team, and led both her boys’ and girls’ squads to numerous divisional titles

She earned a B.S. in recreation therapy from Fresno State University and an M.A. from CSUB in special education.
