2018 (R-JUNIOR): Placed third in 400-meter hurdles at WAC Outdoor Championships...earned First Team All-Conference...Named Academic All-WAC honoree for third consecutive year...did a foreign tour in Europe over the summer.

2017 (R-SOPHOMORE): Reset 400-meter hurdles personal-best to 53.28, 11th all-time…placed fourth at WAC Outdoors in 400m hurdles finals (53.45)...earned Second Team All-Conference…ran personal-best time (11.31) in 100m twice…competed in 200m (22.95) and 400m (51.01)…named Academic All-WAC honoree for second straight season.
 
2016 (R-FRESHMAN): Won 400m hurdles with time of 55.71…lowered CSUB season-best 400m hurdles time to 55.40, 20th all-time...ran 800m once with time of 2:01.52…named Academic All-WAC honoree for the 2015-16 academic year..
 
2015 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt for UC Irvine…competed in meets unattached...ran a season-best 54.78 in the 400m hurdles.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Frontier High School...coach was David Gaeta...earned numerous accolades in his prep career including First Team All-SWYL and All-Area (2013, 2014)…South Area Champion in 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles (2013)…won South Area and Central Section 300-meter hurdles (2014)...finished runner-up at Central Section meet…helped lead the Titans to be SWYL Champions during senior season…top prep times: 110m hurdles (14.58), 300m hurdles (38.37), 400m (50.93), 800m (2:03)…graduated in Top 15 of class with 4.3 GPA…also competed in cross country and basketball for the Titans. PERSONAL: Born Mar. 28, 1996...Son of David Gaeta and Cathy Merlo…major is Geology, minor in Public Administration…father, David, ran track at Bakersfield College before competing at Fresno State...plans to begin graduate degree next fall after graduating in this spring.
