2019 (SOPHOMORE): Advanced to his first NCAA preliminary meet in two events after winning the conference championship title in hammer and discus...Chronister competed in ten total meets on the season...he threw his best discus throw at the Titan Twilight (55.43, 181'10")...he threw 200" or better twice in the hammer...Chronister's career-best in shot put was 16.21m (53'2.25")...he tallied 10 first place finishes on the year...he was named WAC weekly field athlete of the week two times...Chronister was also named Most Outstanding Field Performer at the Outdoor Championships.
2018 (FRESHMAN): Competed in nine meets in his freshman campaign as a Roadrunner...totaled six first-place victories on the season...recorded 17 top 5 finishes across three events (hammer, discus, shot put)...ranks 15th and 20th all-time on the program depth chart in discus and hammer...participated in the `Runner Ready Program sponsored Leadership Academy over the summer.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2017 graduate of Liberty High School...coached by Rod Chronister…earned All-Area honors and broke the LHS discus record…placed sixth at the State Championships…also competed in football and helped lead the Patriots to a Valley Championship. PERSONAL: Born on Sept. 17, 1998…son of Rod and Gail Chronister…major is Business Administration...plans to become a firefighter after graduation…father, Rod, holds CSU Bakersfield all-time Top 20 marks in shot put, discus, javelin, and weight throw, and was a four-time NCAA DII All-American.
